Chickens for the good of the order

We have quite a variety of chickens at the vineyard(grapevine farm). Fourteen total (13 hens and 1 huge rooster). Here's a shot of the rooster, he's a two year old Black Giant. Shaq lives-up to his breed; weighing-in at over 12-lbs and around 2-1/2 feet tall. Most of the time he's nice but when the girls are out and about he gets pretty cocky.

Ooooh, chickens in the vineyard. My dream scenario. I'll be emailing you repeatedly in a frightening stalker-like manner when I get close to making that purchase and need loads of advice. I have a feeling in the back of my mind that I may be deluded in how joyous I think chicken-raising will be.

Well, hens are great but the rooster is not being very nice lately. I got the word yesterday from my wife to take care of him. I guess when she went to feed - he chased her. So, if you see an advert like "great rooster - free" be leary.
We've tried to coax the girls to get out in the vineyard. It's had mixed reaction. I think we'll have to build a mobil hen house.
